Update Unity Key Corner Project- Partnership Presentation for Unity HealthCare at DC General

Bretagne Blair and Shea Capri Bartley discuss their vision for the project.

Unity Foundation's Audrey White proudly displays the design plan developed by KWS for the project!

Yesterday we had a marvelous experience! Our Design Assistants Bretagne Blair and Shea Capri Bartley gave a lovely presentation to Unity Health Care Corporate team and  Color Cares National Advisory Board Member and National Color guru of  Sensational Color, Kate Smith,  on the design concept for the Unity Health Care Reading Corner Project. See our July 10th Blog post for the background on this project.  They presented two themes:  Welcome Aboard the Discovery Explorers! and Let’s Dive into Reading and Escape the Discovery Cove!

Everyone was given a special gift - the design plan and specifications.

Kate Smith of Sensational Color and National Business Advisory Board member of Color Cares reviews the design plan.

The presentation was so phenomenal, I had to share with you the reaction of Audrey White of the Unity Health Care Foundation:

“I just HAD to thank you all for the beautiful experience we had today! It was pure joy to have the opportunity to reconnect with Sherry Ways, principal at Kreative Ways and Solutions who is a PHENOMENAL volunteer member of the Unity family (taking the lead on our other major Key Corner project at Unity’s East of the River Health Center, meet  Kate Smith of Sensational Color and member of the Advisory Board for Color Cares, as well as to see the DC General spaces through the eyes of Kreative Ways’ INCREDIBLE design staff interns (Shea and Bretagne).   I tell you I was speechless (which as all of you know NEVER HAPPENS!  LOL!) after an incredible presentation of two options for the corners.  The themes were “wild about reading” – a jungle theme and “dive into reading” an undersea adventure!

It is a Divine gift to be able to see such potential beauty in a space that is currently dismal (to put it kindly) — I am even more excited and energized about our partnership on this (and other Key Corner sites).  To top it all off – we left with an incredible gift that shares the overall concepts in a concise, organized and visually appealing way (design specification books)!”

KWS Redesigning Unity Health Care Key Corner at DC General with Sponsorship from Color Cares!

Kreative Ways & Solutions, LLC is happy to announce the  Unity Health Care Key Corner  redesign project at the former DC General Hospital in Washington DC.  This project has been endorsed by the national Color Cares organization who will sponsor the redesign as one of their newest national projects.  Color Cares mission “is dedicated to changing lives through the uplifting and healing power of color.”  Color Cares believes that “by changing the color of one’s surroundings, we can make a positive change in one’s life!”   Principal, Sherry Ways is a Washington, DC volunteer representative for the organization.

Unity Health Care, Inc. (Unity) was founded in 1985 as Health Care for the Homeless Project (HCHP) providing primary health care services to homeless individuals and families that resided in local emergency shelters or on the streets of the District of Columbia.  With a patient population that is plagued by low literacy, the promotion of literacy has become an important part of standard primary care, enabling children to grow up with books and a love of reading.  Unity’s goal is to increase literacy among children during the critical literacy skills acquisition years of six months to five years.  Through a partnership with Reach Out and Read of Metro DC, Unity has developed the Key Corner Project.  The Key Corner Project promotes early literacy by bringing new books and advice about the importance of reading aloud into the pediatric exam room, unlocking the door to reading success.

To support the  Key Corner project Kreative Ways along with the team of Color Cares will redesign the Key Corner décor at the Unity Health Care clinic at the former DC General Hospital.  Kate Smith of National Color Expert with Sensational Color and  National Advisory Board Member of Color Cares will solicit donations and support from corporations, paint companies, etc., to help support the project.  The design team of Bretnage Blair and Shea Capri Bartley under Kreative Ways & Solutions, LLC are busily putting together a design plan which will consist of new furnishings, murals and accent walls.

The project is considered Kreative Ways & Solutions, LLC signature community design advocacy project is in the planning phase and should commence shortly.  If you are a contractor, decorative artist, or otherwise creative individual and would like to assist us with this project, contact us today at 888-280-8318 or e-mail us at interiors@kreativeways.com.

This project is a unique opportunity to unleash your creative passions while further developing your honed skills contributed to our mission.
